Frequently Asked Questions

Learn about our personal care services and how we’re committed to your family’s needs.

Are senior companion care and personal care services the same?

No. Senior companion care is the type of nursing care that focuses on providing the support an elderly adult needs to accomplish daily activities that don’t require direct physical contact, such as grocery shopping, light housekeeping, and going to doctor’s appointments.

A personal care aide is a person who helps care for older adults and those living with a health condition. This includes helping them to bathe, groom, and toilet themselves.

How do I pay for home health services?

You can choose to pay privately or by Medicaid, Medicare, or other government insurance. There are many different ways to pay for family care services. We get to know your family member’s care needs, and we can help you estimate the costs of home care for your loved one. It doesn’t matter what kind of condition your loved one has, our mission is to find affordable options for all of them.

What are my options if I only need short-term care for my loved one?

We designed our respite care and social adult day care services to help families in need of short-term relief to care for an aging loved one. A health care aide works at home, providing assistance to the senior while you handle personal matters. This service can last for just an hour to a few weeks.

When you need to go to work or run errands, our social adult day care facility provides a safe and stimulating environment for your loved ones. Our caregivers will look after them and make sure they are comfortable.

How can I become a trained caregiver?

If you’re passionate about helping others, you could have what it takes to become a caregiver. Family Care Services provides the education, certification, and hands-on experience needed to be an effective aide. We’d be happy to have you.

Are Atlanta Elderly Home Care only for older adults?

No. Except for senior companion care, we provide home care services to all individuals who need assistance maintaining their independence and performing the activities of daily living.
