Private Pay
As your loved ones age, it’s important that they remain stimulated and engaged in their communities. Atlanta Elderly Home Care can help by providing more payment options to get care services that promote independence and allow your loved ones to get the most out of life.
What is Private Pay?
If your loved one has trouble performing daily tasks or simply needs someone for company and conversation but is unable to use Medicaid to pay for these services, private pay allows payment that does not have to be billed through Medicaid. Home care aides help clients with grocery shopping, light housekeeping, meal preparation, and more.
The comfort and social interaction that people get from others are essential to their lives, no matter what age they are.
Loneliness and social isolation can have dire consequences if left unaddressed. According to the American Psychological Association, more than 42 million Americans identify as lonely, and that number is only projected to increase with time. The stress that comes with living a lonely lifestyle can take a toll on an older adult’s health, contributing to an increased risk of stroke, dementia, and early death.
At Atlanta Elderly Home Care, we understand how lonely senior life can be. Comfort and social interaction are essential to people’s lives, no matter their age. If you’re worried your loved one has lost their mobility or needs someone to turn to for emotional support, our caregivers are here to help in any way you need.
Does Medicare Cover Companion Care?
Medicare Part A or Part B will cover senior companion care under specific conditions. These conditions include:
- having skilled nursing care
- physical therapy
- speech-language pathology services
- occupational therapy
However, Medicare will not cover:
- 24-hour home care
- personal care
- meal delivery
- homemaker services if those are the only care services required
To be eligible for home health services under Medicare Part A or Medicare Part B, a patient must meet one of the following conditions:
- The patient is unable to leave their home except for short outings, such as doctor visits.
- Adult daycare is eligible.
- The patient is under the care of a doctor and receiving services under a plan of care created and reviewed by a doctor.
- A doctor certifies the patient needs intermittent skilled nursing care, physical therapy, occupational therapy, or speech therapy.
If your loved one does not qualify for Medicare private pay is a great alternative.
Receive true, loving care from the comfort of your own home.
